  • Provide continuous feedback to employees about performance problems and how to make performance improvements.
  • Become adept at providing positive and constructive feedback, as well as coaching your employees throughout the appraisal period.
  • Define performance standards and train managers on their elements, ranging from how to give positive and negative feedback to tracking goals and progress.
  • Link the goals and performance of each employee to the strategic and tactical goals.
  • Deal with a problem performer and a difficult feedback session.
